New YorkConstruction Contract

I Receive a P.O for a project in NYC from a one of my client for $23,000 and in the middle of this project the client ask me to stop working on this project and told me to invoice them for all the work I did so far on this project. My question is, do I invoice my client for the $23,000 as per the P.O or just take my lost and invoice them for the work I did so far. Please advised.....Thanks!

It sounds like the customer is asking for an invoice for the work that's been done so far, not for an invoice for the full price of the project. Invoicing a client for work that's not actually been done might not be a great idea. But, if you're unsure, you can always contact them to ask for clarification. With that being said - it might be possible to collect damages if your contract is prematurely terminated. Though, that doesn't necessarily mean those costs should be invoiced.
