Which date is important in regards to sending a prelim in LA?

LouisianaPreliminary Notice

We are a material supplier. Is the date of project completion or the last date materials were furnished the date that determines when our prelim is due now according to the new requirements? Also does a prelim need to be sent for every month in which materials were supplied?

You'll find answers to these and other relevant questions regarding the Louisiana project your company supplied here: https://www.levelset.com/mechanics-lien/louisiana-lien-law-faqs/

If I can ever be of assistance to your company in the collection of any unpaid commercial project invoices, please don’t hesitate to contact me. While perfected lien rights certainly afford a more direct opportunity for swift, full payment, my firm can develop a successful recovery strategy even when lien rights have expired or were never pursued.

Mike is right - the Levelset Louisiana Mechanics Lien FAQs linked above should have all of the information you could need for determining deadlines in Louisiana. Notably, though - the deadline to file a Louisiana mechanics lien will be based on project completion and/or the date when a Notice of Termination is filed (if one gets filed on the project). You can find a detailed discussion of the deadlines here: When is the deadline to file a Louisiana Mechanics Lien? While there were a significant number of changes introduced with Louisiana's new lien deadline and notice requirements, no changes were made to the monthly notice ("monthly Notice of Nonpayment") requirements. And, as discussed in the following article, material suppliers must generall send notice every month they supply materials in order to preserve lien rights: Louisiana Monthly Notice Requirements for Suppliers. For a little more discussion on Louisiana's notice requirements (old and new): Louisiana Preliminary Notice Guide and FAQs.
