Where can I list the second owner on the Claim of mechanic's lien for California?

CaliforniaMechanics Lien

Hi, we're a subcontractor in California and this is our first time encountering a situation where we have to file a mechanic's lien for one job (one contract) that has two owners. So I'd like to list both owners on a single mechanic's lien but I cannot find where in the 'Claim of Mechanic's lien' form I can list the second owner as there is only a slot for one owner. Where can I list the second owner on the Claim of mechanic's lien in California? If I have to record two mechanic's lien to file against both owners, that is okay but I was advised I should just record one mechanic's lien and list both owners. But I just cannot find where to list the second owner. Thank you.

While most mechanics liens feature a single owner, it's absolutely common for more than one owner to appear on a mechanics lien form. Adding a second owner to a California mechanics lien should be as simple as writing that information directly onto the form itself - likely under the same "Owner" section, depending on the form you've chosen. If you're using a form that has only one blank for the property owner, then editing that form to add another space to input owner information should be a relatively easy process. A word processor like Microsoft Word or Pages should make that easy, or editing a PDF via Preview, Adobe, etc. could work. Or, if there's enough space to list out both owners in the same section, that might be perfectly acceptable too.
