When sending Preliminary Notices, do we have to put amount of contract on it?

GeorgiaPreliminary Notice

Many of our General Contractors do not want their customer seeing how much they are paying us. Do I need to put the amount on there before sending it off?

Georgia is just one of the 12 states that provide statutory lien waiver forms. This means that, in order to be valid, a Georgia lien waiver needs to follow the same form provided by the statute. That being said, the short answer here is yes. The waiver should state the amount of payment it's being exchanged for. Not only is this required under statute, but it's also meant to protect the claimant waiving their rights. It will limit the amount of lien rights that are being waived to that number, the value of labor or materials provided that is the subject of the payment.
