What would I be considered as?

TexasConstruction AccountingConstruction Contract

Having trouble deciding if I be considered employee or independent or a employee, and which would be best. Typically I would do things in my order, bid job for total cost, etc. Daily I was asked to do another " project. When the got the bid, they asked if we could do 2000.00 weekly.

Determining whether you should be classified as an employee or an independent contractor is serious business, and it's generally a bad idea to intentionally manipulate a classification for a benefit in one way or another. Still: If the worker has significant control over when they work, how they perform their work, and the tools used to undertake that work - there's a strong chance the worker will end up being considered an independent contractor. But, if the worker has little control over those factors, then they may well be deemed an employee. Ultimately, there are a large number of variables that could point one way or the other. And, without being intimitely familiar with your operation and the job at hand, it'd hard to decisively come down on one side or another. However, you may be able to come to your own conclusions with the help of these resources: - Employee vs. Independent Contractor in Texas - Classifying Employees & Independent Contractors | Texas Workforce Commission - Employment Law 101: Are you an Employee or an Independent Contractor? | Texas Employer Handbook
