What to do if a shady mechanic puts a mechanic lien on your vehicle?

TexasLawsuitMechanics Lien

What to do if a shady mechanic puts a mechanic lien on your vehicle? The vehicle repairs were all paid in advance, but has not finished the job in over 7 months. Now, the mechanic is holding the car hostage and won't let it go, claiming he has all the time he wants to finish the job. (and can add more fees if they want.)

Hello!

Sue them. Breach of contract, Conversion, DTPA, etc. You would start with a demand letter on a formal letterhead. He cannot legally just add whatever fees he wants. Any work that he performs needs to be authorized by the owner of the vehicle.
