I noticed with IL's lien waivers, it's requesting the property owner to be listed on the document. Is this common with all states? If possible, is there a way to get a list of states that require the property owner to be listed on the lien waiver?
I could not find a list of States that require the owner to be listed on a lien waiver. That said, only about 12 states prescribe statutory forms for lien waivers, and they generally do require that the owner be identified. In a pinch, I would identify the owner whenever possible, but the cardinal goal is to identify the lien or claim being released (i.e. via Document or Recording #).
