What rights do i have to get my money from a pool contractor? I pulled the permit for the building.

FloridaConstruction Contract

A pool contractor is holding money from me because a job i completed 6 months ago needed some repairs. They owe me $13,000. The repairs were simple, but i was not allowed to finishthe repairs because i was on another job for them. What can i do to be paid the 13,000 they owe me? I agreed to pay the 1200 for the repairs and now they are making up more issues

You should consult with an attorney. Generally you cannot withhold payment on one job because of issues with another, unless the contracts specifically allow it. Further, section 713.346, Florida Statutes, prohibits withholding amounts not in dispute, so even if some of the amounts should stay with them to cover repairs, the rest of it should be paid to you. You should consider contacting an attorney to discuss any other options you have. Feel free to reach out with other questions.
