I just finish the lathing work yesterday and sent out the lathing payment. So my question is do I wait after the 7 days before giving general a notice to file a lien ? It says I have 9 days to file

Hopefully you have sent out your prelim notices to the general and property owner with 20 days of you starting your work.
Assuming that there is no recorded completion on this project, as soon as you are done with your work is a good time to send out notice of intent to lien letter. Follow up with the filing and recording of the mechanics lien within two weeks afterward. But, note, once you record the mechanics lien, you have only 90 days in which to file a lawsuit to enforce the mechanics lien or else you will lose your right to the mechanics lien.
