We are a Georgia general contractor starting a commercial project in North Carolina. What is the difference in the project owner appointing a lien agent and the general contractor being required to file a Notice of Contract. I thought the process of appointing a lien agent was to require any potential lien claimants to notify the lien agent of their existence on the project.
