What is the cost to enforce a lien

FloridaLien Foreclosure

Contractor closed up shop and left a lot of homeowners and subcontractors (us) high and dry. I field liens on all properties with unpaid balances. Several of the homeowners contacted us and made payments, a few did not. How much would it cost to enforce a lien as some of the balances ate below $2000. Collectively it may be worth the effort but what is the cost for EACH enforcement? It's been at least 6 months and I only have 1 year to enforce. Thank you.

The cost to enforce a lien depends on a few factors. Are the property owners different? Are the properties in different counties? You may be able to combine some claims into one lawsuit to save time and money. And if the liens are properly filed and relatively small, you may be able to get settlements and payments without having to file a lien foreclosure action. I have helped a few contractors in similar positions and sometimes it goes very smoothly and other times the cases turn into fights over the quality of the work. You should definitely consult with an attorney who can take a look at the liens and give you a more informed idea of the cost. Feel free to reach out to me directly if you have any questions.
