I have a contract signed for129,760.00 I've received 2 of the scheduled 5 payments. The wrote me a termination letter and said my work thus far is satisfactory. My deadline was April 14. I believe they got a better price to finish the job. When I got this job last year they couldn't get anyone else. I could have had many other jobs but I dont overbook. Now I have no other work. I believe they are in breach of contract. Please advise.

Whether this is a breach of contract on their part depends on the kind of termination that was effectuated (if it even was effectuated) along with the facts and circumstances. You need a construction lawyer to assess whether you have been wrongfully terminated (breach of contract).

the termination may be proper or not, depending. but no paying you for work performed is never proper. you probably need an attorney to advise you on both breach of contractor or Quantum Meruit.

If they sign a contract and then decide they can get the job finished cheaper with a different contractor, to me that's a breech. I only book a certain amount of jobs. I could have booked several other jobs. They send me a termination letter saying, " my work was satisfactory" but do not want to chance not finishing by April 14. Although their was never a deadline date. They have really screwed me and my family. Please advise. How should I proceed?
