What if you don't know if a notice of completion is filed

CaliforniaNotice of Completion

A preliminary notice was given, but we have know idea if a notice of completion was done. Looking at clerks recorder office a notice of completion was filed but I do not know how to tell if it is our site.

Can you direct me on how to find out what notice of completion was filed for a specific job

The overwhelming percentage of projects will never have a notice of completion recorded upon actual completion of the project.  It is up to the claimant to stay in touch with the project to know when it is nearing completion.  Of course, many claimants do not let their DSO go 90 days without recording a lien to ensure they do not lose their lien rights. ---CN

In our case, we did the preliminary notice and stop payment. However, no one will respond to us, not the owner, general contractor or sub contractor.

Perhaps it is time for a demand letter or other legal action!
