What direction should I get to get paid by Contractor (I’m sub) when the dateline to file a Lien is expire?

Tennessee

I’m a subcontractor (Painting Business) and I’m triyng to get paid. I’ve been dealing with this since December 21. This Contractor don’t want to pay the last portion of our deal ($2,500). And we have been talking to him and don’t have any success. I file a Monthly Notice with you guys, hopping that I could file a mechanical lien but now Your customer services tells me that from the date that a finish the job I only had 90 days in TN to do that, so now I don’t know what Arely chances? Or what should I do?

You may be well past the 90 day mark to typically file a lien. You may consider filing a small claim action in general sessions court for breach of contract against the GC. Hopefully you have a written agreement outlining terms for collections/disputes.
