If you are in Georgia and it has been less than 90 days since you supplied the materials, you can file a lien against the owner’s property. This is precisely what the lien laws are designed for. In Georgia, material suppliers have lien rights when the materials are provided to improve or repair real property. A statutory lien form is available online (in fact on this website). You will need the name of the owner and the legal description of the property. To do this, you should pull a copy of the deed. File the lien in the same county as the property. At the same time, you are required send a copy if the lien to the property owner.
