We finished a job in January that subbed out to us, that we have not received the entire payment on? What are we allowed to file or do in regards to this?

If you served a preliminary 20-day notice, then you may have the option to record a mechanic's lien. If you did not serve a preliminary 20-day notice, then your option is to file a lawsuit to recover payment from the general contractor

What Mr. Brody stated plus keep in mind if you are a subcontractor on a residential project, unless you have a direct contract with the owner, you do not have any mechanic lien rights.
