What actions can you take on someone breaching a contract

Client is in a written contract and within the contracts sold off some of the contract to another contractor I was wondering what steps to take and how to go about this then was also told she no longer needed my services but still owes on the contract

If a customer has breached the contract, then filing a breach of contract action (lawsuit) to recover damages, lost profits, etc. may be possible. If the claim is under $11,000, filing in small claims court might be useful for getting paid without steep legal fees.
