In Colorado, all potential lien claimants must provide a Notice of Intent to Lien at least 10 days prior to filing the claim of lien. This means that, as long as the general lien deadline is met, generally 4 months from the last delivery of labor or materials to the project (sometimes 2 months, in certain situations), any length of time may pass from the delivery of the Notice of Intent, provided that it has been at least 10 days. The 10-day period is a minimum, not a deadline. Once 10 days have elapsed from the delivery of the NOI, the lien may be filed at any time up until the general lien deadline.
