I have sent the vendor a release and the vendors send them back to me alter she changes the name on the release, does that make the release void?

As long as the company name on the mechanics lien waiver identifies who's waiving lien rights, and as long as that waiver is signed by someone authorized to act on behalf of the company, then the waiver should be effective. Other alterations to a California mechanics lien waiver form could affect the validity of the waiver. But, simply correcting the company name shouldn't negatively impact a waiver - if anything, that'd make sure it's effective. Generally speaking, though - it'd be smart to make sure the company name on their contract, invoices, and lien waivers all match up.
