Taxes on joint checks

California

when joint checks are issued, come tax time, who is taxed on that joint check? The contractor that is getting the check and paying it straight to the supplier or the supplier who is ultimately getting the check?

Generally the check would be shown as revenue on both tax returns. The contractor will be taxed on any adjusted gross income resulting from the payment as will the supplier.
