Sub contractor walk away after deposit

Texas

I hired a sub contractor who left a job not completed. And it required quite a bit of repairs and finish out. Is there a way to collect from them

Retro Bowl?

You should consider preparing a letter to mail by certified mail to the subcontractor to detail the facts and deficiencies in the subcontractor's performance, and to demand the relief that you want. Attach an accounting for costs to correct/complete the subcontractor's work, and photographs depicting the incomplete or incorrect nature of the subcontractor's work. Make sure that the letter is business like and professional.

If need be, you can use your letter in a suit to recover your damages.

Consider retaining a construction attorney to evaluate your legal position, and to provide advice.

Good luck.
