I am a Contractor and I pay my guys sub pay. I hired a guy and I paid him for his hours that he turned in on a signed time sheet. I require signed time sheets, that I provide, to be turned in on Wednesday for payment on Friday. Things did not work out. He came to work on a Thursday, first day of pay period, and I had enough. I let him go and told him to submit his time sheet. I have not received a signed time sheet therefore I haven't paid him 68 dollars for the four hours of work. All I have received is nasty text messages and a threat of a Mechanics Lean. Does he have a leg to stand on with his threat? North Carolina.
