We were building a deck for a customer and 3/4 of the way thru we just decided the materials for the railing system, the customer had made several changes thruout the project. We had her pick the hardware and style of materials and she gave us a check for the exact amount of the estimate we gave her. We went ahead and ordered the materials. Some of them were available that day so we started to put those on the deck. 2 days later she said she never approved the materials and her husband intimidated us with physical harm to not come back. Since then she has stopped payment on all 3 checks, even though they had already cleared our bank. Out account is a mess with fees. Should we file a lien or just go to small claims? What is the best and fastest way to recoup our losses. They will not answer calls or messages. The amount is 7011.10
