Should a property owner be notified when a lien is placed by a subcontractor?

MassachusettsMechanics Lien

I am a property owner in MA. A lien was filed on my property by a subcontractor without any notice given to me. Has the lien been properly served?

Under section 4 of the lien law, the subcontractor is required to send notice of the lien to the owner by certified mail. However, there is no specific deadline for doing so. Feel free to call me.
