CaliforniaMechanics Lien

I am a CA real estate broker. A friend of mine died and I am helping with the estate. I agreed to manage the property and pay the property taxes, insurance and maintenance while the property is in probate. I am to be paid a management fee and reimbursed my out of pocket expenses when the property is sold. Can I file a mechanics lien to protect my interest?

No. These types of services would not qualify for a mechanic's lien. There are other remedies you have if you don't get paid but not a mechanic's lien.

speak with the probate attorney to get reimbursement and payment for services rendered to prepare the estate for sale.
