We had someone not fill there end of the contact. We got insurance money for there home. They did us another contractor. We had them sign a contact and if they went with another contract they would have to pay us out 20% but they did not stop the contact with in 3 days...I need advice. I dont think I can file a mechanic lien. I hope that make sense.

If your company performed work and that is the basis of the insurance company issuing a check payable to your company and the customer, you are entitled to be paid for the value of the work which was completed, accepted and approved. If no work was performed, then I am not clear as to why the insurance company issued a check which includes the name of your company. It would be best for you to consult with an attorney to explain the details including a review of the contract.
