Residential Lien rights in Nevada

NevadaMechanics LienRight to Lien

We completed work directly for the homeowner on a project. I'm not sure if we have a signed contract that is signed by both the husband and wife. Does Nevada require both parties to sign our contract in Nevada, in order to have lien rights. Thanks

Your lien rights should still be intact. In fact, under Nevada mechanics lien laws, a written contract isn't required to have the right to file a lien. (see: Can You File a Lien Without a Written Contract?) If you've gone unpaid, your next step would be to send a Notice of Intent to Lien, since its a residential project. This notice is required to be sent to the property owner by certified mail with return receipt requested at least 15 days before filing your claim. Failing to do so is fatal to your claim. You can download a free Nevada Notice of Intent to Lien form here.
