Requirements for residential contractor in florida

FloridaLicenses

Based on the college/work requirements. I have a bachelors degree in business and marketing. So I achieve the three years of college credits though it’s not construction related. Does that still count towards the requirements for college credits? As for getting experience as being a foreman. What does “1 year experience as a foreman” mean?/ Definition of a Foreman? Assuming the other requirements of exam pass, insurance, FICO score, background check and everything else is in check. Would the only thing I need is a year working as a foreman? Thanks for the help!

To count toward qualifying for a Florida contractor's license, the college credits must be construction-related. So, a degree that's wholly unrelated to construction likely cannot be used to qualify for a Florida license. Regarding a "foreman" - that generally refers to a construction site or crew supervisor. So, an applicant will need to show they've got at least one year leading a site or crew. I hope this information has been helpful. For more background on how to obtain a Florida contractor license, it'd be helpful to consult with someone more familiar with the ins and outs of that process - like Licenses, etc., a Florida construction attorney, or one of the many contractor license education businesses online.
