How do I remove a Mechanics Lien that was filed on a property owner? It should have been filed against the company that hired us to do the work?

Hi,

You remove a lien by providing or filing an Unconditional Lien Waiver on Final or Progress Payment.

Also, a lien creates a property interest. The lien is supposed to sit on top of the real property of the property owner who was responsible for paying the company that hired you to perform work. I would need to know more but it sounds like the lien is exactly where it is supposed to be in this situation. A judgment lien would be filed against the company that hired you to do work but that's only after you go to court.
