Prevailing wage information

We've been asked to Bid on a Prevailing Wage Job. I've never done one before. I heard that there is an application that we need to fill out. If so do you know where I can get this application. Is there any other information you can give me? Thank you, Linda Maher Montoya Mechanical

To bid on a prevailing wage job in California, you must first be registered as a "public works contractor" with the Department of Industrial Relations. This is the application I believe you are referring to. To register there are a few requirements that must be met, including being licensed by the CLSB and having the required worker's comp insurance. If the bid is accepted you must also be sure that any any subcontractor you hire on the project are also licensed and registered as public works contractors. In addition to that, there are certified payroll obligations that must be met, or you may faces fines or have your license revoked. Here are some additional resources that you may find helpful:
