TexasSubstantial Completion

Hello, on average if a commercial space is vacant and a GC supplies an estimated 50-day to completion; would the 50 days include weekends also? Thank you

It depends on what the bid or contract states. If the parties interpret the days to be calendar days, then the 50 days would include weekends. If the parties interpret the days to be working days, then the 50 days would not include weekends.

If the contract permits the contractor to request extensions of time for delays beyond the contractor's control, then the 50 days may lengthen to a much longer time.

Retain a construction attorney to help write or interpret the contract.

Good luck.
