Notice of intent incorrect

Illinois

I filed a lien against John O'Reilly - improperly. It was sent to IPA as property owner and it should have been John O'Reilly and the property address. Can I fix this?

In Illinois, a General Contractor's mechanics lien must be filed within 4 months after completion of work to be effective against subsequent owners. Notice must be issued to the current owner and all lienholders (i.e. Banks, other contractors with iens, etc.). Long-story short, if you notified the wrong people then notify the right ones. Keep in mind that there is a lot that is not encompassed in this answer, including but not limited to your status as a General vs. a Sub, how you deliver notice, etc. I hope this information was helpful. Best of luck.
