No notices were sent. Sub was paid, we were not as the supplier. Can I file a lien?

I am a supplier to a sub of a GC on a commercial job. The sub was paid by the GC and the sub never paid us for supplies. The sub attempted to pay half and the check returned NSF. No notices were sent to the sub or GC. Can i file a lien?
