I am trying to buy a house that has been vacant for over 2 years in the state of Missouri. I found out that in February of 2020 a mechanics lien was on this property for work that I don’t believe this contractor ever did. From what I can tell Missouri requires liens to be filed with 6 months. I believe that the company that filed the lien also owned the mgmt company that use to manage this property. Given that the property has been vacant for 2 years how should I proceed? The address that they served the owner was an apartment in Kansas City and the owner has lived in Texas for 3 or 4 years. I am not sure how to proceed any help would be appreciated.
