Hello,

I think you meant "need to know LIENS" so I will answer that. Note, however, that we need to know if you are a sub or a GC and whether the project is commercial, residential, or municipal.

If you are a GC, and the project is commercial, you may file an affidavit claiming lien within four months of the month in which work was last performed. The affidavit claiming lien must be filed before the 15th day of that 4th month. If the project is residential, the affidavit must be filed before the 15th day of the 3rd month after thue month in which work was completed.

If you are a subcontractor, you need to provide notice of intent to lien to the GC and to the property owner before the 15th day of the 2nd month after the month in which work is performed.

If it is a municipal project, you would perfect in the same way that you would as if you were a subcontractor. Provide notice to GC, property owner, and the bond company.

For more info, feel free to reach out.
