Job was completed in February of this year but the GC kept stringing us along with promises of payment and then went completely silent. Will not return calls or emails. We've contacted the owner directly and they've basically said this job was paid in full you need to deal with the GC directly.
You need to look into pursuing a complaint against the General Contractor with the California State Contractors Board. Hopefully, this will get their attention. Otherwise, you need to meet with an attorney and see your options. If the General Contractor took money and did not pay you, you still may have rights against them, but you likely lost all of your rights against the owner. That is why you have to be vigilient with pursuing liens against properties that you work on.
