mechanics lien on a boat and trailer

question here is I want to file a mechanics lien on a boat and trailer on a resident of Colorado.the work was performed in California and the person did not pay the bill so he was small claimed and lost. this is different from all the reading I'am running across here since it is not a home.time limits different fornthis situation and where do I start?

As you mentioned above, mechanics liens can be filed against real property (i.e. real estate) for construction work that goes unpaid. While there are other types of liens out there which may secure rights against personal property, a mechanics lien cannot be used to secure rights in boats or trailers. Notably, a judgment lien may be available when a claimant already has a judgment in hand - and that lien might be placed against personal property.
