MECHANICS LIEN NY QUESTION

New YorkMechanics Lien

If a contractor does work on many apartments in a building that becomes a condominium, and the contractor wants to file a mechanic's lien for $ owed by the owner/sponsor or general contractor to the contractor/lienor, does the contractor/lienor need to file only one mechanic's lien against the owner at the time he did the work, or separate mechanic's liens against each current condo unit owner, altho he did the work for the prior owner of the entire property (who was the developer/sponsor of the condominium)? Once the offering plan has been filed, seperate liens need to be filed (but only on unsold units).
