Mechanics lien filed for work not completed - what are my options?

ColoradoMechanics Lien

We had a contractor replace the tiles on our front porch. We paid for the materials up front. The contractor sent some guys to install the tile. They were very rushed as they were leaving for a job in another state the next day. We met with the contractor to go over the problems with the job. We were assured the problems would be addressed. The guys came back one more time and attempted to fix some of the problems, but many remain, including major issues with the grout and trim. The contractor promised to come back on specific dates to complete what he referred to as a "punch list" but never showed. Now he is demanding payment. We had agreed to put the money in an escrow account with a lawyer to be released upon completion of the work but he is no longer communicating with us and just informed us he is filing a mechanics lien. We would like to get the work completed and have no plans to sell the house anytime soon. What are our options?
