I have received a copy of a Mechanic lien filed against my tenant. It also says in the notice that that the owner of the property is my tenant which he is not. Is the contractor able to put a lien on my property even though his contract was with my tenant? ThanK YOU VERY MUCH

Yes, unless a property owner timely and properly posts and records a notice of non-responsibility, the property owner may be subject to a mechanics lien arising out of a tenant improvement project. ---CN
