Can I file a lien on a GC for non payment on the homeowners property?

Good afternoon. A lien is filed on the property improved. It is not field against the GC, but the GC is a party that must get notice of the intent to lien.
If you supplied equipment, material, labor, machinery, or tools to be used in the construction, alteration, or repair of any structure, or if you made an improvement upon the land itself, you are eligible to claim a mechanics’ lien. The lien process must be followed to the letter.
