Incorrect amount on the NOI, how to correct?

California

Initially filed a NOI but found out that the amount owed was incorrect. I cancelled the NOI since we decided to go straight to filing a Mechanics Lien. Unfortunately, the NOI has already been mailed to the homeowner. What steps do I need to take to make sure that the correct amount owed is paid? Also, a preliminary notice was not done prior to the start date, how will that play out?

If you have direct contract with the homeowner you do not need to give a preliminary notice, as the Mechanics Lien notice should be in the prime contract. You can send a corrected NOI to the homeowner. Make sure you file the ML before the time to do so expires.

Mechanics Lien has been completed and filed. Should I send a corrected NOL just to cover all of our bases?
