New YorkDefectsMechanics Lien

A contractor did not provide the name and address of his company's registered agent on a mechanic's lien. The contractor's company is a corporation, and the registered agent is in another city.

§ 9 of New York's mechanics lien statute sets out the required information for a New York mechanics lien. That section doesn't state that a corporation must list their registered agent on their mechanics lien claim. Though, § 9(1) does call for "the business address of such firm, or corporation, the names of partners and principal place of business, and if a foreign corporation, its principal place of business within the state."
