In 2018 we did work at an apartment (fire protection) and we were hired by a Property Management Company

California

We have been trying to collect from the Property management Company but now we are told that the building was sold and the new owner is not responsible. The Property Management Company signed the bid and are stating that the old owner is responsible. The total owed to us is approx. $4800.00

The responsible parties are the parties that signed the contract. If the property owner didn't sign, they may be deemed liable if the property management company was their agent in entering the contract. Since the amount is $4,800.00 you can file a lawsuit in Small Claims Court.
