If I sent a prelim with the estimated contract amount at the beginning of a job do I now need to revise that prelim?

CaliforniaPreliminary Notice

We sent our required 20 day prelim back when the job began with the estimate contract amount. Now that that amount has changed to I need to revise my prelim and if so does it also need to be resent?

You do not need to resend your preliminary notice when the contract mount changes provided your original estimate was made in good faith. But make sure any changes in the contract amount are clearly defined in change orders or, if the job is cost plus, that everyone is on the same page regarding escalating costs.
