If I filed a Lien, but the office address is not updated and reflects an old address--will it affect the lien?

FloridaLien on Funds

My company is a Certified General Contractor in Palatka, FL. We filed a lien on a job site recently; however, the address of our office reflects an old office location at which we are no longer located. Does this type of error affect my lien and is there any action I need to take?

Your address is not material to the validity of the lien. If you are within 90 days of finishing your work I recommend that you file an amended lien with the new address.

It will not affect the Lien. Minor errors in a lien will not affect its validity. However, you do need to make sure that your new address is sent to the DBPR for your license. If you receive a notice from the DBPR and they sent it to the old address, you will not get to claim lack of Notice. Very important to update your DBPR licensing profile.

No, you should be fine. But I would notify the owner by certified mail of the new address and consider filing an amended claim of lien with the new address
