If a worker does work for you without given you a price before, do I have to pay him if I disagree with his price after?

Louisiana

I had a worker do work for me a price we discussed and sound reasonable. After his work was finished he charged double the price, and at a price I would not have agreed too. What are my options.?

Scope of work and price without a contract are challenging issues to handle. Ultimately, it may be his word against yours or perhaps if you both agree that no agreement was reached, it may likely come down to a fair market determination of the work he performed. It is a tricky situation, but I believe attempting to resolve it without litigation would be in both of your best interest. Give us a call if you have additional questions. 504-323-5885
