I want to send an intent to lien form. Do you guys provide?

CaliforniaCollections

On a job I provided services, but never filed a prelim form (CA well over the 20 days) and I haven't been paid a dime. The tenant on the commercial building is renting and I was able to get the owners information and wanted to see if I can send them a intent to lien form so maybe they will get the tenant to pay. Its 8k so anything can help.

You can find a free, downloadable template for a California Notice of Intent to Lien here: California Notice of Intent to Lien Form. Or, if you're looking to send a document through the Levelset platform, you can start a Notice of Intent order under "Send a Warning," here: Levelset Document Navigator. As you mentioned above, things like a failure to send notice can certainly derail a mechanics lien claim. But, keep in mind that tools like invoice reminders or demand letters might help with recovery, too. Plus, legal claims outside of the mechanics lien process - like a breach of contract claim, prompt payment claim, etc. - could be on the table, too. And, for debts under $10,000, small claims court might be an avenue for streamlining legal claims. Finally, sending a debt to collections could be yet another option to attempt to recover at least partial payment.

Just keep in mind that a Notice of Intent to Lien is NOT  legal requirement in California.  You don't have to send a Notice of Intent to Lien before recording a Mechanic's Lien.  You really are just using it as an incentive for the owner to pay you.
