TexasLien ReleasesMechanics LienPay Applications

I have been threaten with a lien if the contractor does not pay his bill for $1135.00 I have not signed anything and the work was agreed upon verbally. The original work was done at the end of October and the first of November. Can they file the lien against my homestead?

They can lien for November work but it is too late to lien for October work. To lien your residence, they need a written contract with your general and the general with you. If it is homestead, the written contract between you and your general needed to be signed by you (and your spouse if you have one) and recorded in the county’s real property records BEFORE any work was done or any materials were delivered.
