I don't know what to do I am at a loss because of this man's behavior

My husband got a job to spit a house to be moved the guy offered no contract so my husband made a verbal contract and the guy agreed to witch is the reason the job was started. My husband explained how he was going to brake the job down and how he would receive draws on it and he agreed so him and my son did the job well 3 parts of it . he was supposed to get a draw on each phase the gay said he was not comfortable giving him 3000 at one time so my husband said fine we will do 1500 at start and 1500 at finish of each phase and he agreed . so no problem till phase 3 he got the 1500 at start and finished that phase and that last day after work was waiting for check and the guy does some crazy stuff and runs up to my husband and said I made up my mind I am not paying you . my husband then tried to talk to him and he was acting like a child saying I did it I made up my mine you are not getting money my husband said you agreed to the agreement you can't just choose to not pay me and I did the work . the guy said he can do what he wants it's his money so he asked him why and he said the job is not done the floor is not done . my husband explained to him that is the last part of the job because it gets done on the day the movers come and move the house and that is not one of the jobs he does the movers do that because the house gets jacked up and put on trucks and then they cut the floor and he called him a lier and told him he was lazy and that's why he was not paying him . so my husband called the movers so he could explain that is their job and why he called him a lier and said he was only saying that to help my husband . now I have sent him an invoice and he replied by saying good luck because you owe me 1500 . I am at a loss and I dont know what to do but I know my son and husband work all week and deserve to be paid and should be . now he is saying all different kind of stuff but my husband take pictures of everything he does because he is proud of the work he does so I dont know what this guy is thinking but he refuses to pay the 1500 and I don't know what to do . and now says we can't do any thing to him because the property it is being moved to is in his father's name not his so we can't. Do him anything
